For the last three days, I have been dying to share everything about my trip this past weekend. DYING, I tell you! Unfortunately, sometimes life (ahem, WORK) gets in the way, and blogging unfortunately falls to the wayside So without further ado...
This past weekend, Mike and I traveled back east for what I'm now referring to as a mini-tour of the east coast. We took a long red-eye flight into DC on Thursday night, and spent an all-too-short day at my family's house recovering, hanging out, and-- most importantly-- meeting Moose! We managed to get one good picture with him (he's already doubled in size since my family picked him up just a little over a month ago!). He's very... bitey.
Ow, Moose.
Later on in the day, and after some much-needed power naps, we headed up to the Jersey Shore for the wedding weekend of my dear friend Caroline. The wedding was held in Manahawkin, NJ, and we were lucky enough to get to stay at my friend Kailin's family beach house in Long Beach Island for the weekend! Let me tell you guys, the Jersey Shore is so much more beautiful than the reality TV show gave it credit for...
Wedding-ready with some fellow-Lionettes!
If I were tasked with envisioning Caroline and Bryan's perfect wedding, it wouldn't look to different from the real thing this past weekend. Bonnet Island Estate was the venue, and it was absolutely gorgeous: beach-views and simple elegance.
The beautiful bride!
On Sunday, things took an unexpected turn. After a final breakfast in LBI, Mike and I headed to Philadelphia for the day, where my bestie Chelsea was gracious enough to let us hang out until our return flight that evening. And if they hadn't already proved themselves as the best hosts EVER, Chelsea and her boyfriend even took us to get cheesesteaks! Nommmmm.
What up, Philly?
Needless to say, we were exhausted after our whirlwind trip when we arrived back in San Diego late Sunday night, but it was 100% worth it. I feel so incredibly grateful and fulfilled-- it's amazing how being around the ones you love (especially when you don't get to see them that often) helps you realize how truly blessed you are to have them.
And that's what's been happening in my life lately! That and a crap-ton of work. My mantra this week has been...
So, what's new with you?!Labels: life-lately, weekend
