Weekend in Photos - Up, Up and Away!

I'm not really sure why I included "up, up and away" in this post's title (maybe I'm channeling The Skimm), but I feel like it works, especially with the new heights (ha!) I reached on Friday night!

On Friday night, I tried rock climbing for the first time at local climbing gym, SolidRock Gym in Old Town-- such a cool spot! Mike was pretty much a rock-climbing pro (he went to school in Colorado, where rock climbing is basically how they get to class); he even brought his own equipment. All though it took a little warming up to, I actually had a lot of fun! And only "one and a half freak-outs," according to Mike.

Mike looks amped, but check out the little girl in the bottom right-- so much sass.

On Saturday, I started my morning off right with some of our homemade cold-brew coffee (more on how that's made here) and re-reading one of my favorite books from the past year, "Big Little Lies" by Liane Moriarty, before heading out on a quick make-up shopping run.

Ulta purchases: Benefit Fake Up, Benefit Posie Tint, Batiste dry shampoo and free birthday gift of Urban Decay Perversion mascara. All first-time purchases, so stay tuned for a review!

Saturday afternoon, we headed up to Del Mar for a barbeque to "send-off" the house of one of Mike's childhood friends before they put it on the market for sale. All I can say is: wow.

Mind you, this is just part of the backyard.

In total, the property was four acres. I really wanted to walk around the house snapping photos, but I guess that would have been pretty uncool so I refrained. What was cool though, was the in-home movie theater... Anyways, we capped off Saturday evening with a housewarming party for Mike's new apartment, which was a huge success! Largely because of the housewarming party, Sunday was spent taking it very easy (including snapping that photo of the heart-cactus above), and resting up for the week ahead.

How was your weekend?
